Upcoming JCC Fatherhood Initiative/Project MALE Meetings

Parenting doesn't come with an instruction manual, unless you believe the spin at one of those 'Life Coach' sites that end up trying to convince you to buy their book. The fact is there's less resources for dad's to network than there is for mom's, in a setting that's about THEM in this town...or at least not as well known.

I had the chance of getting in touch with Ronnie at the Jacksonville Children’s Commission, after spotting some info at "The Mayor's" site that wasn't clear about this kind of resource. Ronnie made it crystal clear...

"The next two meetings will be held on 8/9/07 and 9/13/07 here at the Jacksonville Children’s Commission. Our address is 1095 A. Philip Randolph Boulevard. The meetings are from 6-8pm. The topic in August is “The Art of Living” which will deal with “Men’s Health and the topic for September will be “The Power of Choice”. Dropping in is ALL-RIGHT!"

For those of you not having a vehicle, JTA's 'F1 - Florida' Bus line goes right past the place. If I can make it after a gruelin' day in a cross commute through town, then chances are you don't have an excuse to miss out if you're a guy with someone looking up to you.

Oh...and if you're one of 'those' guys who don't need the help, consider the help and mentoring you might be able to offer a young dad who might show up to get some helpful advice. This'll be a good chance for many of the 'Dad' bloggers in Jacksonville to put their 'Blog where their mouth is'.
