Homeless Finding Love Online...or not

A year and a half ago a friend of the family both my wife and I know was having a hard time. She'd been in the homeless shelter cycle and had seen both her children grow out of it as well as seeing a granddaughter born into it.

Her paramour; on again off again out of his convenience; was shacked up with the flavor of the month, and she was going through a rebound period from depressed to manic.
She discovered the lure of online chat rooms and lonely men in strange places.
Throwing caution to the wind, she agreed to accept a round trip air ticket to Las Vegas and meet someone for the first time in a hotel room at the Stratosphere, against the wishes of both her daughter and her son.

She showed up back in town a week and a half later as she'd promised, and happy as could be. The 'interested' male hadn't the interest after seeing her come off the plane in her Florida tan. After paying for the tickets and hotel accomodations; a week in advance; he informed her that he was married and couldn't go through with it...her skin reminded him too much of his wife's.

Her reply to him was to either shut up and turn off the lights, or leave before she'd call his wife in a very insulted voice. The gentleman left, and she enjoyed the remaining time there with the stack of complimentary chips she'd received when passing someone on the street.
Without him in her hair, she'd managed to get back on the plane with $2,000.00 she hadn't gotten off with when landing in Vegas before.
