More Homeless Footware Tracked

I was able speak with one on one with a person experiencing homelessness this last Monday. He doesn't like using services downtown due to not feeling safe around many other chronic homeless.

He's couch surfing in one of the suburb areas and was heading 'home' after work. He's staying with a family but feels imposing and wants to get a place of his own, but has problems because he's giving half of his paycheck to them.

While it's nice to help people, helping oneself to increased income at their ultimate expense isn't nice. More often I hear of people 'helping' someone, then when a person gets an income they feel obligated to provide realistically more than their fare share of whatever cost they're incurring or would be charged as a boarder.
