Remember I'm Doing A Walk For Those That Can't Remember

Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) grips the lives of many families throughout America, from those feeling it's effects to their family, friends, and neighbors. It's most known and comes to light when local media alerts communities of missing people, however it's what children deal with daily when advocating and making decisions for their parents who have AD.

Nobody really knows what causes AD, but it's symptoms revolve around parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language. The most prevalant and well known symptom is Dementia, a progressive loss of cognitive function.
Being a geek like me, it's honestly one of the scariest things possible when so much of what I do relies massively on this.

In many cities in upcoming months thousands of people will converge to Memory Walk and make a difference, and the Alzheimer's Association is taking great strides for people to help through donating, walking as an individual or as a team, and even becoming a Team Captain. Will I stop Alzheimer's Disease dead in it's tracks? Not alone. But I can ask people to check my page there, donate through their secured site, get people to walk with me, and get the word out of the walk itself.
Now read close your eyes and think if you can remember what I just wrote. If you can, think of those that can't who've got AD
Check out my page there. If you can't donate, consider mentioning this in your blog. For the moment my goal is a modest $200.00. If I reach that goal, it's going to be increased.
And remember, if you link to my Walk Page as well as this entry, you'll be getting link backs!
This is important to me, because I've met a handful of people who are homeless and are in early stages of AD.
What if it was someone you loved
Click it. I'm sitting right there beside you.
