Site Review: Guide To Healthcare Schools

Checked my email last night for online work, and soon thought it was cool that I received a request to review Guidetohealthcareschools.com, since just this last week I was talking to a friend who's graduating soon school actually listed in this site, as a massage therapist.

In the request I was given right to critique the site. In all fairness, their a reputable looking business. This site is a GUIDE, a means to get connected to a school of your choosing.
The example in this blog is about Massage Therapy, but Guidetohealthcareschools.com provides information pertaining to many programs in many technical schools!
Rather than having to do searches of your own, they've done the legwork and have a database full of contact info. They also provide you an easy to fill out form online that zips your information to the specific school representative, who in turn mails you directly information of the program at their school.

Now here's two problems I have with the site, both revolving around Online and Offline Privacy:

    1. Privacy Policy not prominently displayed: While a few of the school forms that are hosted on their site; where you provide information; DID have them in the footer of the page, the portal page for the site didn't as well as any of the Program linked pages from that.

Solution: Display on EVERY FOOTER, as well as on the right hand side in header bar.

    2. Privacy Policy not clear: I know they're electronically; through email or file transmission; sending my input information to the school I want. I know they say they protect my privacy, and only disclose it to 'trusted parties'. But other than the school I want, I don't have any idea what the policy of the 'trusted parties' is with handling 'my' private information!

Solution: Shorten it, hire a technical writer if needed. The longer a person has to look at things 'NOT FUN', the quicker they'll navigate away. Don't lose the opportunity if you're get funding for candidates to schools.
All in all, a good place to check out programs if your interested in getting back to school this Winter semester. For those having issues with situation #2 above the site provides information that will allow you contact the school directly, so don't look at it as an obstacle...
...look at it as an opportunity.
